Senior UX Designer: Financial – Cape Town

We have a fabulous opening for a senior UX Designer at a leading financial institution in Cape Town. This is a specialist role that will see you working with and providing Design services across digital marketing (Web, Social Media and Digital marketing areas) for the brand. You will be involved in and contributing to the conceptual development and delivery of visual Design. We’re looking for someone who possesses outstanding visual design skills and has a strong sense of graphic, web and screen design, as well as a high level of understanding of visual solutions for smaller portable screens. You’ll contribute to design projects and pitches and must have an appreciation of intuitive interaction design. The ideal candidate can communicate effectively and possesses a commercial understanding and awareness. The fullest understanding of graphic design, typography and digital standards is essential to executing design projects of all sizes, and completing them with resourcefulness and dedication. The role serves as a mentor to Junior/Production design staff as well as a consultant on UI/UX, Web Functionality, and visual direction for large scale marketing initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Working closely with multiple agencies and product owners on various projects, ensuring a consistent user experience, user interface and client interaction (user journey)

  • Contribute to team resource planning and integration.

  • Provide screen-based solutions focusing on UI design and concepting across channels such as mobile, web, PC applications and interactive TV.
  • User experience, user interface and interaction design planning and management on all platforms,
  • Responsible for creating and communicating detailed design and functional requirements through all stages of the project development process.
  • Create definition and experience briefs, user flows, wireframes, visual comps and rapid, lightweight interactive prototypes, through software like Axure
  • Analyse online business process flows
  • Translating user feedback and business requirements into user interfaces
  • Ensuring the consistent visual presentation and UI design through user centred design principles.
  • Partner with the project team to determine and define the project communication goals
  • Recognise and help define the differences between the platforms and how it directly affects the user experience in each
  • Ensure consistency of the user experience, regardless of the platform
  • Work close with the multiple development teams to ensure accuracy of the final product to those of the product specs
  • Use analytics to gain insight to customer/user behaviour to improve UI

  • Able to input and design for animation/motion solutions and demos created in Flash, 3D or similar software.
  • Work on projects from concept and sketching to final design and asset creation.

  • Assist in the creation of set brand guidelines and specifications.
  • Contribute to the Experience Design knowledge base.
  • Ensure continued professional development in personal area of specialism.
  • Gain, develop and maintain a high-level knowledge of all the capabilities and skill sets within the digital design industry
  • Developing the Information Architecture for new campaigns and projects, providing the base for UI design
  • Developing process flows and journey maps
  • Influence campaign strategy
  • Refining, restructuring content to ensure maximum conversion, data harvesting(conversion strategy)
  • Provides operational support on Digital strategies.
  • Operational implementation of briefs within the governance of the brand’s Digital strategy
  • Implements and maintains Brand Corporate Identity
  • Contribute to the efforts of the Digital Design team and ensure relevant and effective in pursuit of client briefs, and takes corrective action as required.
  • Comply with Finance and Risk management governances, including correct audit requirements.

 

Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:

  • University Degree majoring in Behavioural Sciences/Statistical Analysis/Economics/Information Systems/Computer Science or equivalent, or certified from Human Factors International.
  • Experience within a digital media or performance media firm, tracking, measuring and optimising digital campaigns is required.
  • Experience in working within a marketing/business intelligence environment working with analytical software (e.g. Google Analytics, SiteCatalyst, Coremetrics, etc.)
  • High level of experience in data analysis techniques
  • Strong proficiency with AXURE or equivalent software and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for producing reports and presentations
  • Experience in identifying and validating strategic and tactical marketing objectives and in measuring and analysing online marketing campaigns including: natural and paid search, email, affiliate, display and social
  • Experience in working with website optimisation tools for A/B and multivariate testing, e.g. Google Website Optimizer, Visual Website Optimizer, Optimizely, Maxymiser, etc.
