We have a fantastic job opportunity for a junior to mid-weight Content Creator at a noteworthy NPO based in Cape Town. In this exciting role, the Content Creator will be involved in everything from Communications Strategy and implementing on-brand content plans to engaging with hospital staff, patients and parents while leading marketing opportunities in a dynamic environment. This multifaceted role is tasked with advancing the organisation’s Fundraising goals through emotive and impactful communication content. You’ll be tasked with the development of a content strategy and implementation plan that align with the organisation’s vision, mission and values. As a Content Creator, you will be working alongside the Donor Relations team. This role will be critical in the strategic effectiveness (how) and quality of targeted content (what) shared with various donor segments (who) on all media platforms (where). Craft content that aims to retain existing donors and educate, inspire, and acquire new donors. Research, plan, create, curate, and execute to expand and elevate the NPO’s brand. Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Create and implement targeted, creative content strategy through in-depth understanding of the organisational strategy and donor segments (Corporates, Individuals, Community Fundraisers, Legacy, Trusts & Foundations)
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create fundraising campaigns, complete tasks, identify opportunities and solve problems
  • Visit the hospital regularly to engage with hospital staff, patients, and parents to collect storytelling content
  • Brief and assist Internal Designer, marketing and digital agencies with content creation
  • Create and maintain a content calendar in collaboration with Communications Officer
  • Oversee the writing tone and style guide for all content in collaboration with Communications Officer
  • Transform one content piece into a variety of formats for maximum impact
  • Optimise the use of digital media platforms of the organisation, traditional media houses (including website, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and IG)
  • Handle multiple priorities efficiently
  • Monitor engagement and conversions from published content
  • Monitor and assess the ROI through analytics in collaboration with Comms Officer
  • Monitor social media and company website metrics
  • Ensure that the content strategy achieves the goals
  • Assist with Community Fundraising activities in collaboration with Comms Officer
  • Assist with Ambassador/Influencer content creation activities in collaboration with Comms Officer.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have/be:

  • Degree/Diploma or related qualification
  • Qualification in Marketing Communication and Project Management will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 3 years’ working experience with a proven track record of creating content that converted into successful fundraising campaigns and exposure
  • Highly skilled in MS Office until advanced (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • WordPress experience an advantage
  • Ability to be bilingual or multilingual in any if the 11 official languages will be an added advantage
  • Strong ability in conceptual and visual thinking
  • Solid understanding of SEO, blogging and familiar with social media and best marketing practices
  • Understand the synergy between PR and Marketing
  • Ability to create content plans and write captivating content
  • Creative out-of-the-box thinking – displaying innovative ways of working
  • Positive attitude, organised, accountable, integrity and personally motivated
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to create concise briefs for agencies and designers
