The stakes are high, the winner takes all! Step up Creative Directors, we have an unbeatable on-site opportunity for a talented, integrated CD at an exciting, global gaming and entertainment company at their HQ in Cape Town’s CBD.
As a truly through-the-line CD you will serve as the creative lead within the company’s Marketing department where you will lead and direct the team and processes in the creation, planning and delivery of the creative process.
You will be responsible and accountable for conceiving and managing the delivery of campaign concepts, ideas and guidelines to completion. You’ll manage the internal creative team of designers, copywriters and any other external creative resources required to deliver such content across the creative lifecycle (including overseeing the pipeline of brainstorming, assignment, production, editing, and publication).
You will achieve this with the aim of growing the brand’s reputation as the sports betting and online gaming brand of choice. To this end you will work closely with the Marketing team to refine and grow the brand image and voice.
The role will also focus on building and enabling solid and engaged creative design talent to support innovative and sustainable business operations while enabling the company’s business objectives.

Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Chief Marketing Officer and Brand Manager to develop the Brand and CI guidelines aligned to the overall Brand strategy, and customised to market segmentation, based on an analysis of competitor product offerings in the online gaming industry
- Direct and lead the brand’s creative team in developing and delivering creative artwork and providing innovative solutions for the delivery of marketing objectives
- Manage creative processes from conceptualisation to production
- Lead brainstorming sessions and creation of concepts by being an ideas bank of innovation and concepts to be used as a foundation for content for various online channels in line with business requirements
- Lead design teams in the development of concepts and execution of all projects to create exceptional visual style & tone for a range of projects
- Collaborate on UX and wireframe executions with other members of the team to provide insight into how the project will work
- Oversee the development of plans for generating meaningful content to drive increased traffic, engagement and brand visibility
- Conceptualise, plan and ensure synergies are created between design content for various projects
- Work closely with creatives and developers to ensure the solidity of designs and highest level of quality is maintained at all times.
- Translate complex ideas into beautiful visual executions that make them easier to understand.
- Introduce graphic and animation tools, and access to relevant content that enables a series of creative opportunities for marketing services
- Influences present and future products, services, platforms and content management by determining and evaluating current and future market trends.
- Actively lead/participate in every aspect of creative design and development: Copywriting, Graphic design, Web and email design, Layout
- Commission, edit and proofread content as required ensuring it meets style, tone and marketing message requirements, as well as reflecting the brand
- Attends occasional events to support real-time and wrap-up coverage
- Present creative ideas/concepts to clients in a compelling and clear manner
- Develop and manage the creative services budget, forecasting and ROI
- Team leadership and management; ensuring all relevant employees understand relevant standards, regulations and expectations
- Drive a culture of quality standards, ethics and governance and ensure all staff are competent to deliver against those standards
- Keep up to date with current and future design methodologies and marketing strategies in the business, creative and animation design environments.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- 3-Year Degree in Marketing/Communications/Graphic Design
- 10 years’ experience following a path through the ranks of the industry from designer/ copywriter through to management levels, including experience as a creative director or in a similar creative role
- Hand-on experience in creative process, marketing, graphic design and brand development
- A proven track record of managing successful creative design and multi-discipline teams
- Understand brand identity and voice
- Project management
- Ability to generate creative ideas, coupled with sound editorial judgement.
- MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Thorough understanding of art, copy and layout
- Excellent working knowledge of software such as Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, InDesign etc.
