Junior Marketing Manager: Health Food Brand – Hybrid, Cape Town

Calling the cool kids with a passion for health food and captivating content! We have a super-cool, hybrid opportunity for a Junior Marketing Manager to join the funky team at an innovative, fast-growing health food brand based in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs.

Our ideal candidate is a dynamic individual who is keen to grow alongside this exciting company. You have experience working on a young, fun, and cool lifestyle brand. The focus of this role is strategy roll out which includes social media and community management, content curation and some creation, managing agencies, and day to day marketing responsibilities. It is vital that you have a keen visual eye, with some experience on Canva.

We are looking for someone young and hungry with a good sense of taste and creativity. You should be a well-organised person who can manage the people in your department as well as outside partners e.g. paid media people, ambassadors, content generators etc.

Hybrid: 2-3 days in office per week.

Responsibilities

  • Manage baseline marketing activities: social media, content creation, posting, & copy.
  • Oversee ambassadors, influencers, & content creators, ensuring a steady flow of quality content.
  • Act as the liaison and account manager between the brand and the paid media agency.
  • Coordinate with the agency for newsletters, strategy, design, and video editing.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have/be:

  • Industry relevant qualification.
  • 2-3 years’ previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not paramount.
  • Proven track record of commitment and longevity in previous roles.
  • Budgeting and financial understanding of the marketing department are bonuses.
  • Previous experience working on a young, fun cool lifestyle brand – advantageous.
  • Able to do some content creation in Canva
  • Content curation experience.
  • Social media management experience (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
  • Creative thinker.
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, very well organised, and efficient.
  • Persuasive and adept at representing the brand to potential content creators and ambassadors.
  • Capability to manage a content team, scheduling, and internal communication.
  • Strong teamwork ethic, commitment, and ability to connect with the team.
  • Excellent creative and Administration Skills
  • Digital fluency and ability to adapt to new tools, like ClickUp and Shopify, essential
  • Strong creative/visual eye for distinguishing between high-quality and mediocre content.
  • Ability to curate mood boards and guide photographers for brand-aligned photo shoots.
  • Shares brand values, particularly in health and wellness.
  • Young, dynamic, and in tune with new technologies and trends.
  • Eager to grow their skills within a marketing role.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working autonomously.
  • Good sense of taste.
  • Able to manage their internal  department as well as outside partners e.g. paid media people, ambassadors, content generators etc.
