The scope of this exciting role encompasses the brand management of the safari lodge’s brand, and its CSI Foundation. The function is to support the commercial business approach, which is inclusive of both the elements of tourism and conservation.
 
The position will report directly into the Marketing Director, and the chief responsibility is to be the brand custodian, leading and championing all brand outputs, strategy and creative. As the Marketing Specialist, you’ll be required to work with internal and external partners to co-create, implement, and maintain effective Marketing and Marketing Communications strategies targeted towards both B2B and B2C stakeholders.
 
We’re ideally looking for a candidate from a luxury and hospitality background with 10-years’ experience and a love of tourism and conservation. In addition to the exquisite Tourism properties and experience that awaits, the brand is conservation-led, purpose-built through the CSI Foundations. Experience with working in international markets is a benefit.
 
The successful Marketing Specialist will join a passionate Marketing team consisting of a Marketing Director, a Head of Content, and a Head of Digital Marketing, working in collaboration with agency partners that form an extension of the marketing team.

Responsibilities
 
    • Own and be responsible for the brand and its CSI Foundation: performance, strategy,  creative, outputs and reporting.
    • Ensuring quality and consistency of all outputs
    • Creating and managing a budget, in collaboration with the Marketing Director
    • Implementation of agreed upon and devised strategy on a twofold approach:
    •       1: Conservation, community, ecological sustainability, and upliftment.
    •       2: Commercial (for-profit) division that is inclusive of safari camps and lodges.
    • Drive revenue generation for the brand, opening up new channels for growth
    • Providing linkage between Brand and Foundation with Foundation inspiring content for brand communications
    • Consolidating all marketing activities into a unified approach both B2B and B2C
    • Management of Sales & Marketing integrated system e.g. Zoho Marketing Hub
    • Ensuring a consistent brand identity across all touch points
    • Drive brand and Foundation outputs with the internal team (Head of Content, Head of Digital) and agency partners by: Creating briefs and briefing teams; Delivering on brand positioning; Delighting luxury high end consumers; and seeing projects from inception through to execution
    • Collaborate closely with the sister company’s Brand Manager to deliver the portfolio strategy
    • Driving database growth with consistent communication strategy
    • Identify trends and incorporate responses and action plans that will allow the brand to remain competitive and pioneering
    • Working with the Head of Digital to drive the application and implementation of traditional marketing elements for Digital marketing including: Newsletters, Social Media platform management, PPC campaigns, App (application) management, and Website
    • Trade support requirements: Marketing contributions and management and working with the marketing team for digital review of all electronic resources and platforms including Wetu, fact sheets, maps, infographics etc.
    • Print media development and implementation including: On-property collateral, and  Public Relations insertions and/or advertorial/editorial feature editing and correction
    • Drive quality design: With an eye for great design, work closely with design partners to brief and deliver excellent creative design outputs that are on brand.
 
 
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
 
    • Degree/Diploma in Marketing and/or Marketing Communications and/or Brand  Management
    • Minimum 10 years working experience
    • Experience in luxury hospitality
    • Experience in Conservation – advantageous
    • Passion for philanthropy
    • Experience in both B2B and B2C marketing
    • Experience in digital and print marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
    • Ability to be strategic and have creative judgement
    • Ability to derive analytical insights and actions from marketing metrics
    • Strong project management skills
    • An advanced level of computer literacy with special focus on use of marketing systems, as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Informed decision-making ability – imperative
    • Ownership and responsibility to drive all brand and CSI Foundation related matters
    • An excellent knowledge and understanding of the luxury sector and the calibre of clientele that are targeted
    • A sound ability to both strategise, and execution is key
    • Commercial focus to drive revenue generation
    • In depth understanding of marketing, communications, and brand strategy
    • Fully literate and numerate with the ability to perform relevant calculations, statistics, and be able to interpret basic accounts and financial statements and reports
    • Ability to focus and prioritise
    • Ability to effectively listen, collaborate, communicate, and perform diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders, guests, and staff in all situations
    • Humble, yet driven with a track record of performance
    • Team player who demonstrates the ability to build and develop successful team
    • Able to work through periods of high demand and ready to work on weekends
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • A passion for the industry, a positive attitude, and the ability to think out of the box
