PR Project Manager: Fashion Retail – Cape Town

A fabulous opportunity has opened up for a mid – senior PR Project Manager at a large fashion retailer’s Cape Town HQ. We are looking for a candidate with a background in PR and excellent Project Management skills. In this exciting role you will be responsible for conceptualising and executing campaigns around fashion and sustainability. As such you’ll need to have an understanding and keen interest in the subject. You will also be required to write content, mostly internal communications related. A background in fashion, retail fashion or experience working on an international brand will give you the edge.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, together with the rest of the Marketing & Communications team you will work towards aligned and cross-functional goals, by successfully leading appointed projects on sales market level across the year depending on need. You will drive added customer value through sustainability and improved sustainability perception together with relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for planning, co-ordination, execution & follow up on appointed projects & activities depending on need
  • Set, follow up and report on KPIs and objectives connected to project responsibility, showing the connection to added customer value and selling where possible
  • Drive local sustainability work in line with the global sustainability strategy & global guidelines
  • Plan, execute and follow up on local internal communications activities in collaboration with other local departments such as e.g. HR
  • Be a natural leader with a strategic mindset and strong planning and prioritising skills.

Requirements

The successful candidate must have/be:

  • University Degree preferably within Marketing, Communication or Business
  • Approx. 5 years of experience from a similar role with strategic and operative experience of PR, Sustainability, positioning brands within fashion while maintaining commerciality and customer focused communication
  • Strong leadership experience from an environment where your business orientation, problem solving ability and structure help you succeed
  • An experienced PR Project Manager with good knowledge of creating strong results within the area of project management
  • A solid understanding of all disciplines of marketing and communication
  • Good writing skills
  • Strategically minded
  • Business driven, always customer focused, commercial, communicative and an excellent relationship builder
  • Agile, humble, team player, self-starter
  • Able to prioritise
