Think you can out-think the box? We have a compelling, fully on-site opportunity for a Senior Conceptual Copywriter to join the innovative, hands-on creative team at a creative studio delivering 360° solutions based in Cape Town.
We’re looking for a Senior Conceptual Copywriter who combines strategic thinking with creativity to develop ideas that shape meaningful brand stories. Someone with a very strong understanding of the digital landscape, who enjoys both big-picture thinking and hands-on execution. You should be able to create work that resonates across multiple platforms.
From campaign concepts to brand messaging, you’ll be a key part of the creative process, developing ideas that are insight-driven and strategically sound, connecting with audiences in film, digital, print, and beyond. While a strong foundation in traditional advertising is key, you should also have digital experience, knowing how to adapt messaging for modern platforms, audiences, and media landscapes.
The successful candidate will get to work across disciplines from through- the-line advertising and video production to post-production and 2D/3D animation. This agency thrives on craft, collaboration, innovation, and pushing boundaries to bring ideas to life.

Responsibilities
- Develop campaign ideas – conceptualise creative solutions for advertising and brand campaigns, ensuring they are rooted in strong strategic insights.
- Write across formats – craft engaging copy for film, digital, social, print, and experiential campaigns.
- Shape brand voices – define and refine tone of voice guidelines, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
- Think strategically – ensure messaging aligns with brand positioning, audience insights, and campaign objectives.
- Adapt for different platforms – tailor messaging for both traditional and digital channels, understanding how different audiences engage.
- Collaborate & refine – work closely with designers, art directors, motion teams, and strategists to bring ideas to life.
- Present & pitch – communicate ideas with clarity and confidence, whether to internal teams or clients.
- Challenge & evolve – push creative thinking and bring new perspectives to the work.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Industry relevant qualification
- 8+ years of experience as a Copywriter in an agency or creative studio.
- A portfolio showcasing strong conceptual thinking, strategic insights, and effective writing across different platforms.
- The ability to simplify complex ideas into clear and compelling messages.
- A deep understanding of branding, advertising, and storytelling.
- Experience in strategic thinking, ensuring messaging is both creative and commercially effective.
- Digital experience: Creative with a very strong understanding of the digital landscape. Understands how to write for film, social, and digital advertising.
- A collaborative mindset – comfortable working with teams across disciplines.
- Bonus: Experience in brand strategy, content creation, or interactive storytelling.
