Responsibilities
 
    • Shaping the vision by leading the development and execution of innovative marketing strategies to position this region as a premier sustainable destination.
    • Building the brand by enhancing and overseeing iconic local brands to inspire local and global audiences.
    • Embracing tech by pioneering digital transformation using AI, VR/AR, and data analytics to revolutionise destination marketing.
    • Drive visitor growth by expanding the region’s reach through targeted campaigns, fostering loyalty and unforgettable travel experiences.
    • Championing inclusivity by ensuring that the marketing strategies embrace diversity and universal access, making the region welcoming for all travellers, including persons with disabilities.
    • Collaborating broadly by partnering with communities, businesses, and global organisations to create campaigns that reflect the rich heritage and future aspirations.
    • Delivering results by unlocking creative revenue streams, enhancing market share, and achieving measurable growth in visitor numbers and engagement.
 
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
    • 10 years of progressive marketing experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership.
    • A background in tourism, destination marketing, or hospitality is highly desirable.
    • Expertise in building and monetising marketing strategies through partnerships and sponsorships.
    • Strong storytelling and communication abilities.
    • Leadership excellence with a proven ability to inspire high-performing teams and shape iconic brands.
    • A Digital innovator with experience in AI-driven campaigns, data analytics, and emerging technologies.
    • A global perspective with experience marketing to diverse international audiences.
    • A commitment to sustainability with a passion for balancing profit with purpose.
    • Inclusive with an understanding of accessible tourism and strategies that embrace diversity.
    • Creative and impactful with the ability to turn data-driven insights into campaigns that deliver measurable results.
