Keen to use your marketing skills doing truly meaningful, rewarding work? Well, look sharp because we have just the ticket! This is a superb, fully on-site opportunity for a Mid-weight Regional Events & Fundraising Specialist to work at a vital NPO based in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs.
 
As the organisation’s Regional Events & Fundraising Specialist your work will not only to fulfil a purpose but also significantly contribute to their mission. In this essential role, you will develop and implement the marketing and fundraising strategies for the region, enhancing our visibility and financial support within crucial external groups.
 
You’ll need to be adept in executing daily marketing initiatives to promote the organisation’s programmes focusing on regional efforts to maximise fundraising, craft campaigns responsive to opportunities at local, regional, and national levels. And convert these organisational goals into effective external communication and campaign activities.
 
We’re looking for an experienced candidate with solid fundraising and event organising experience, someone familiar with the Cape Town NPO market as well as the community in Cape Town as this is the bulk of the role. Ideally you will also have some experience with social media content creation.

Please note: Due to the nature of the role, this person will also be required to work over the weekend and in the evening when required.
 
Responsibilities
 
Strategy and Planning:
 
    • Analyse market trends and competitors within the non-profit sector to inform the national marketing strategy.
    • Develop and execute regional marketing strategies to increase awareness and fundraising, aligning with national objectives.
    • Set and achieve regional marketing and fundraising goals based on national directives and regional market analysis.
 
Campaign Management:
 
    • Lead assigned national and all CT regional campaigns, ensuring seamless coordination with the National Marketing Manager and team.
    • Innovate and implement high-impact marketing campaigns and donor acquisition strategies.
    • Plan and manage campaigns across various media channels, adapting strategies based on data and feedback.
 
Content Management:
 
    • Generate compelling content for PR, websites, and social media to attract and engage target audiences.
    • Identify innovative use of Digital and social media
 
 
Strategic Partnerships:
 
    • Foster strategic media partnerships and maintain a network of contacts to maximise PR opportunities.
    • Create impactful stories to enhance PR presence and oversee regional event participation.
 
Tracking and Reporting:
 
    • Monitor marketing efforts, providing regular performance updates to management.
    • Assess campaign effectiveness, ensuring budget efficiency and return on investment.
 
Trusts, Bequests, and High-Value Donors:
 
    • Collaborate with Corporate fundraising on trusts and bequests.
    • Grow and cultivate relationships with high-value donors in Cape Town, ensuring an up-to-date regional database.
 
 
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
 
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
    • Expertise in integrated marketing tactics, utilising various media channels, social media, digital marketing, and client relations.
    • Proven background in marketing, promotions, and event management, with a knack for learning and adapting.
    • Successful in creating and leading multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive engagement and financial results.
    • Fundraising and event organising experience and familiar with the Cape Town NPO market and community.
    • Knowledgeable in current charity marketing trends and practices.
    • Exceptional leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
    • Efficient in time management and organisation.
    • Passion for excellent copy, storytelling, and a keen eye for aesthetics.
    • Some experience with social media content creation required
    • Strong attention to detail and budget management.
    • Proficient in people management, inspiring and clearly communicating with teams.
    • Excellent public speaking abilities.
    • Proficiency in English and good command of Afrikaans.
    • Versatile in adapting communication styles for different audiences, including school and business presentations and radio interviews.
    • Must have a valid driver’s licence and own transport.
    • Able to work after hours and weekends when required.
