We have a fabulous in-office opportunity that’s “on the nose” for a Mid-weight DTP/Repro Artist who has been exposed to design, to join the Packaging and Marketing team at an historic wine farm in the Stellenbosch.
We’re on the hunt for a dynamic and highly detail-oriented DTP & Repro Artist to support the brand’s marketing team with the execution of packaging, marketing collateral, and digital assets/image retouching.
You should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience and be comfortable working closely in a small marketing team. Apply today!
Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
- Manage product packaging artwork received from design agencies, converting files into print-ready final artwork (FA).
- Prepare and support New Product Development (NPD) manager with packaging colour passes and print proof sign offs.
- Review and quality-check packaging execution through internal processes and systems.
- Support NPD Manager with printers and production houses on artwork execution, substrates, materials, finishes.
- Ensure accurate translation of designs across different packaging formats and materials.
- Coordinate and manage photographic pack shots for tasting notes, web platforms, and marketing use.
- Update brand and product CI documents, including logos, brand rules, pack shots, and brand assets
- Adapt marketing collateral for the marketing team across print and digital platforms.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Visual Communication or Multimedia
- Minimum 3 years’ experience.
- Strong experience in DTP & Repro, preferably within FMCG or packaging
- Excellent knowledge of print production processes and print-ready artwork preparation
- Must have packaging exposure and an understanding of packaging substrates, materials, and finishes
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- Experience creating realistic product mock-ups and digital renders
- High attention to detail and strong quality control skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communicator with a collaborative working style
- Must have a driver’s license and own vehicle as you will have direct access to printers.
