Responsibilities
General
- Digital marketing strategy and implementation to engage with consumers across relevant platforms and touchpoints
- Omnichannel holistic approach to integrate in-store, online and social channels
- Refine digital style guide and ensure brand uniformity and consistency with master brand style guide
- Budget and cost management balanced against performance and industry benchmarks
- Research to understand the digital marketing environment: customer / user journeys centred around beautiful designs that provide simplicity, speed and convenience, competitor analysis (local and international) and innovative brands outside our category
- Project management – planning projects in realistic phases and taking sales peaks into consideration
- Constantly research and enhance skills to adapt to digital evolution and future changes
- Launch new products and highlight feature products
- Content Marketing Strategy including channel selection, content creation (design and copywriting) and management thereof
- SEO – best practice search engine marketing including website structure and relevant keywords/phrases to improve website rankings and drive organic growth
- Email signatures
- Digital marketing law and compliance
- Management of analytics and reporting to determine insights and strategies for more improved and cost-effective digital marketing efforts, measured against objectives
- HR – Work with MD and Marketing Manager to recommend and recruit staff required for the digital department, such as Graphic Designer / Creative Director, Copywriter etc that can be shared with traditional marketing, in-store and digital.
- Working with internal departments for input, buy in etc. Including sales, colour team, technical team and finance
- Management of suppliers and service providers – from sourcing new suppliers/service providers and briefing to design, production, implementation, quality control, budgets, analytics etc.
- Identifying new digital marketing opportunities
- WhatsApp messaging and motion graphics
- Digital and Audio/Visual/Data Requirements for events and exhibitions and future requirements.
Website
- Website creation: strategy, structure, mapping, design and development including user journey and experience. The website requires a total rebuild and design upgrade.
- Online shopping of our Colour Samples to offer convenience, fast shipping, seamless user experience and lead generation to Stockists
- Online/virtual colour consultations
- Management of updates including home page banners, new product launches, tinting stockists, colour inspiration and updates, guarantee registration, paint calculator, user journey
- Determine phasing of updates to ensure no delays in launching
- Manage QR code links and product URL names
- Monthly website maintenance and speed
- Manage domain registration and hosting.
Social Media Marketing
- Current platforms: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube
- Channel recommendations, setup and population such as TikTok, Pinterest TBC
- Colour inspiration and purchase Colour Samples directly through social media platforms.
Video Marketing
- Strategy and video content for the website, social media platforms, events and in-store screens
- Tutorials and DIY Content – how-to project tutorials / instructional videos
- Colour inspiration, new product launches, brand messaging
- Promotion of video ads.
Digital e-Books
- Digital product e-catalogue
- Digital brochures and colour cards.
Manage Customer Relationships
- Determine best digital channels to engage with consumers for complaints and compliments/reviews/ratings, to build positive customer relationships and online reputation (e.g. Facebook, Google reviews, HelloPeter etc)
- Finetune processes for handling customer complaints and negative comments from digital platforms
Paid Media
- Display adverts – brand and data led banners
- Paid Social media ads
- Paid Search (Google AdWords): plan and set up search campaigns as well as review search keywords
Digital Requirements for Stockists
- Pack shots/FABS for e-commerce, website banners, social media to promote Duram products
- Social media content pack (e.g. new product launches)
- Liaising with key accounts / stockists when necessary
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- 3 Year Digital Marketing qualification (University Degree or Diploma through reputable tertiary institutions such as Vega School, IMM Graduate School, AAA School of Advertising, Red and Yellow Creative School of Business)
- 10 years fully rounded Digital Marketing experience is essential
- A hardworking, dedicated and honest individual with initiative and enthusiasm
- Exceptional project management skills – ability to manage multiple jobs
- Ability to work independently as well as take instruction and leadership
- Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
- Hands on approach
- Willingness to learn
- Team player who enjoys working with people and good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to travel when required for projects (predominantly to JHB/Durban)
- Require strategic, creative and practical skills for the creation and implementation of projects
- This person will be setting up and managing the digital department, and due to the complexity of our business, we are looking for someone who has a long-term goal to stay in one company.
