We have an outstanding, fully remote opportunity for a Mid-Weight Content Specialist to join a growing in-house marketing team working on a portfolio of distinctive Botswana-based safari and tourism brands.
 
This is a hands-on role for a naturally curious storyteller who can turn ideas into compelling, commercially effective content. You’ll work across a mix of B2B and B2C outputs, from guest-facing materials and digital content to trade communications and campaign copy, bringing clarity, consistency, and narrative strength to every touchpoint.
 
Strong editorial judgement is key, along with the ability to shape raw information into engaging, polished stories that resonate with different audiences.
 
You’ll also play a supporting role in bringing campaigns to life; helping coordinate content across platforms, updating digital channels, and ensuring everything is delivered on time and on brand. While broader digital marketing exposure is beneficial, this role is first and foremost about writing, editing, and content execution. It suits someone who is self-directed, adaptable, and comfortable working in a less structured environment where initiative and ownership are valued.

Responsibilities
 
    • Write and edit compelling copy for websites, newsletters, blogs, campaigns, brochures, fact sheets, trade collateral, presentations, and guest communications.
    • Translate ideas, experiences, wildlife sightings, conservation stories, and brand narratives into clear, polished, audience-relevant content.
    • Proofread and refine copy produced internally or externally.
    • Assist with ad hoc promotional materials, presentations, and campaign copy.
    • Take ownership and help shape campaign ideas with the wider team and convert concepts into executable plans.
    • Build campaign timelines, content calendars, and launch schedules and coordinate rollout across channels.
    • Think proactively about how content can extend campaign life and improve results.
    • Help develop and execute social media plans across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging relevant platforms.
    • Curate compelling text, image, and video content aligned to brand tone and campaign objectives.
    • Schedule and publish content across channels.
    • Monitor engagement, respond where appropriate, and support community growth.
    • Track monthly performance and recommend content improvements.
    • Support user-generated content initiatives and annual campaigns such as photo competitions, judging processes, and winner announcements.
    • Website management and implementation of SEO best practice.
    • Email marketing and CRM – Write, build, deploy and track regular newsletters and campaign mailers
    • Help shape content touchpoints from inspiration and enquiry through booking, pre-arrival, in-stay, and post-stay engagement.
    • Monitor website traffic, social engagement, campaign performance, and email results and produce monthly reports.
 
 
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
 
    • Industry relevant tertiary qualification.
    • 3–5 years’ experience in a content, editorial, digital marketing, campaign, or brand role.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Strong editorial judgement and attention to detail.
    • Ability to translate ideas into compelling audience-facing content.
    • Experience executing multi-channel campaigns.
    • Good understanding of social media platforms and content best practice.
    • Comfortable using CMS and marketing tools (e.g. WordPress, Mailchimp, GA4, Meta platforms or similar).
    • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
    • Commercial awareness and audience-led thinking.
    • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
    • Experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, conservation, or lifestyle brands – desirable.
    • Exposure to premium or experience-led consumer brands – desirable.
    • Understanding of SEO and paid digital campaigns – desirable.
    • Interest in wildlife, nature, culture, and Botswana as a destination – desirable.
    • Photography, design, or visual content sensibility – desirable.
