We have a compelling opportunity for a strategic and versatile Group Marketing Manager to preside over the marketing function across a portfolio of companies within a boutique law firm. They have offices in both Johannesburg and Cape Town so you could be based in either location.
The Group comprises a leading law firm renowned for its class action and personal injury litigation, a fast-growing property services company, and a Trust Management division providing fiduciary and administrative services to Road Accident Fund and family trusts. Each entity carries its own unique mandate, but together they form a powerful legal and financial ecosystem.

Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Brand Positioning
- Develop and implement tailored marketing strategies for each business in alignment with its market and growth objectives.
- Maintain distinct brand identities while ensuring a cohesive overarching brand narrative across the group.
- Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and thought leadership opportunities, especially in the legal and fiduciary sectors.
Content & Communication
- Manage all content creation across platforms (social media, websites, newsletters, press releases, internal communications).
- Translate complex legal and fiduciary concepts into clear, engaging, and trustworthy content for target audiences.
- Ensure consistent tone, language, and visual identity across all communications.
Digital Marketing & Lead Generation
- Oversee digital campaigns including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, email marketing, and paid media.
- Track and report on campaign effectiveness; use insights to refine approach and improve ROI.
- Develop and optimise lead pipelines for each business with a particular focus on client conversion.
Client & Community Engagement
- Create and coordinate client education and engagement events (in-person and online), including RAF awareness, property education, or trust management seminars.
- Support social responsibility and access-to-justice campaigns.
- Develop referral networks across relevant sectors including legal, medical, property, and financial services.
Team Coordination & Supplier Management
- Collaborate with internal teams (lawyers, administrators, sales) to identify marketing needs and opportunities.
- Manage external vendors and freelancers (graphic designers, printers, media buyers, etc.).
- Oversee budgets and ensure efficient use of marketing spend across companies.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Industry relevant tertiary qualification.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably with exposure to legal, property, or financial services industries.
- Strong digital marketing skills, including experience with GoogleAds, social media platforms, CRMs, and basic graphic tools (e.g., Canva or Adobe).
- Excellent writing and communication skills – able to handle complex, sensitive topics with clarity and confidence.
- Creative, organised, and results-driven with the ability to balance multiple brands and projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in a high-accountability, entrepreneurial environment.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Afrikaans or Zulu a strong advantage.
