We have a terrific on-site opportunity for a Mid-weight Integrated Marketing Manager to take the reins at a South African heritage brand in the FMCG Food Retail sector in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs.

With no existing marketing department, you’ll have the rare opportunity to build one from the ground up. You will create and execute a bold, commercially smart marketing strategy, with a strong digital and activation focus, and lead everything from social content, website and events to uniforms, trade shows and external supplier management.

Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Conduct a full brand audit to understand where we are — and where we could go
- Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy across digital and traditional channels
- Build our marketing infrastructure, tools, and processes from the ground up
Digital & Social Media
- Lead a full social media revamp: create strategy, build content calendars, schedule posts, manage the community, and report on performance (organic & paid)
- Create compelling digital content — from writing posts to designing visuals, producing video content and more
- Manage and execute email marketing campaigns, including list segmentation, content development, and reporting
Creative & Execution
- Oversee content creation across formats: copywriting, design, photography, videography
- Oversee below-the-line marketing initiatives including in-store point of sale, packaging, branded uniforms, activations, and trade shows
- Work closely with external creatives and agencies (as needed)
Website
- Oversee the revamp and ongoing management of our website (UX, content, SEO, etc.)
- Ensure our online presence reflects our brand and supports business goals
Budget & Collaboration
- Motivate for and manage the marketing budget
- Work together with our Key Account Manager to align on campaigns, retail initiatives, and promotional strategies
AI
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to enhance marketing strategy, content creation, or campaign performance.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Industry relevant tertiary qualification
- Minimum 5 years of marketing experience in FMCG (food/grocery/alcohol retail sector experience) – essential
- Proven track record in developing and executing marketing strategies
- Experience managing digital platforms and content creation
- Strong understanding of social media, email marketing, and website management
- Proficiency in marketing tools (e.g. Meta Ads Manager, Mailchimp/Klaviyo, Canva/Adobe Suite, Google Analytics)
- A self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments
- Proactive, hands-on, and highly organised — you get things done
- Digitally savvy with a sharp eye for content and design
- Strong communicator with an instinct for brand storytelling
- Strategic thinker with commercial awareness.
