A superb on-site opportunity has arisen for a ‘digital first,’ Mid-Senior Digital Art Director to join the team of boundary pushing makers at an integrated studio in Cape Town.
We’re looking for a Mid-Senior Digital Art Director to create visually compelling, strategically sound digital work. You’ll work closely with the Digital Creative Director to develop and execute creative ideas across social, web, motion, display advertising, and interactive content, ensuring that everything produced is high-quality, engaging, and aligned with brand objectives.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be involved in both concept development and execution, collaborating with Copywriters, Designers, Motion teams, and Strategists to produce work that pushes creative boundaries while remaining effective for digital platforms. You will also play a key role in banner rollouts, ensuring that high-volume digital assets are well-designed, consistent, and optimised for various platforms and formats.

Responsibilities
- Develop & execute digital campaigns – Create visually engaging work across social media, web, display ads, motion-based content, and digital activations.
- Manage banner rollouts – Oversee the design and adaptation of digital banners across multiple formats and platforms, ensuring consistency and high-quality execution.
- Shape & refine art direction – Work with the Digital Creative Director to bring strong creative concepts to life.
- Ensure consistency & quality – Maintain high creative standards across all digital outputs while working within brand guidelines.
- Collaborate across teams – Partner with Copywriters, Motion Designers, Strategists, and Developers to create cohesive, effective work.
- Stay ahead of trends – Keep up with Digital Design, Social Media best practices, and emerging creative technology.
- Push creative craft – Ensure every piece of work is well-crafted, detail-oriented, and optimised for digital platforms.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Industry relevant tertiary qualification
- 5+ years of experience as a Digital Art Director or Senior Digital Designer in an agency or creative studio.
- A strong portfolio showcasing digital-first design, including social, motion-based content, display ads, and interactive assets.
- A solid understanding of typography, composition, and digital storytelling.
- Experience designing for Social Media, Digital advertising, banner rollouts, and web-based brand experiences.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and Figma.
- Strong conceptual thinking combined with a keen eye for detail, layout, and motion.
- Ability to collaborate with senior creative leadership and work within a team to elevate digital execution.
- Bonus: Experience in UI/UX or interactive design.
