Calling all hotshot Mid-Senior TTL Copywriters with a flair for languages! We have a superb, in-office opportunity for you to strut your stuff and show off your creativity at a terrific full-service integrated creative agency in Cape Town.
 
We’re looking for a conceptual writer who is comfortable speaking and writing through-the-line in at least 3 of the following languages: IsiZulu, IsiXhosa, English, Afrikaans, SeSotho.
You will play a key role in shaping and elevating the agency’s clients’ brand voices through innovative, compelling copy across all platforms.
 
You will be responsible for setting the creative tone, driving messaging strategy, and ensuring all content aligns with clients’ brand identity, tone, and purpose. You’ll be required to refine messaging strategies and deliver consistent, high-quality work.
 
This compelling creative role, will see you providing thought leadership in Copywriting, partnering closely with Designers and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful content.

Responsibilities
 
Creative Leadership & Conceptual Copy Direction
 
    • Develop innovative, high-level copy concepts that align with our clients’ strategy and creative direction
    • Lead ideation sessions, guiding creative discussions that shape campaign messaging
    • Partner with design, marketing, and creative leads to deliver integrated solutions that resonate across platforms
    • Drive a culture of curiosity, creative excellence, and continuous improvement.
 
Brand Messaging Strategy & Alignment
 
    • Own the creation of strategic messaging frameworks that ensure consistency across all channels
    • Translate complex ideas into simple, clear, engaging copy
    • Ensure all written content (whether digital, print, social, or in-app) enhances the brand’s positioning and resonates with target audiences.
 
Research, Strategic Thinking, & Data-Driven Creativity
 
    • Use data and insights to refine copy strategies and enhance engagement
    • Apply design thinking principles to improve copy effectiveness
    • Stay informed of market trends, consumer sentiment, and emerging technologies to ensure messaging relevance
 
Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement
 
    • Manage multiple copy projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality delivery within deadlines
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders to interpret briefs, align on creative direction, and present copy solutions
    • Maintain clear, transparent communication throughout the creative process
    • Foster a collaborative environment where innovation, empathy, and user-centred solutions thrive
    • Innovation and continuous improvement: Continuously explore new tools, methodologies, and storytelling techniques to enhance creative outcomes
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and raise the bar in copy quality
    • Encourage fresh perspectives and creative problem-solving within the team.
 
 
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
 
    • Degree in Communications, Copywriting, Marketing or a related field.
    • 6+ years of copywriting experience, with strong expertise in conceptual creative work
    • Proven ability to develop and deliver multi-channel campaigns (digital, ATL, BTL, social)
    • Experience driving creative direction
    • Essential: Creative leadership, strategic thinking and collaboration  
    • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of conceptual strategic and brand-aligned copy solutions
    • Leverage research and exploration to craft compelling messaging strategies
    • Previous experience in an agency environment
    • Mastery of conceptual copywriting, with a strong ability to simplify complex ideas
    • Ability to lead creative ideation and bring innovative concepts to life
    • Strong research and data analysis skills to inform copy decisions
    • Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
