We have a fabulous hybrid/flexi opportunity for a dynamic Mid-weight Digital Media Specialist to join the Marketing team at a well-known retail technology company based in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs.
This role is ideal for a mature, self-starting digital marketer with 3–5 years of experience in both B2B and B2C Digital Marketing. The focus? Strengthening online presence, driving brand awareness, and generating qualified leads.
You’ll be responsible for developing and executing B2B-focused digital strategies, while also contributing to B2C digital campaigns to engage a wider audience.
You’ll take charge of social media strategy, paid advertising, email marketing, and content creation, while also diving into analytics to optimise campaigns. To succeed in this exciting role, you must be able to
- Curate, write, and package B2B content while also creating user-generated content (UGC)
- Plan and implement paid campaigns on Meta and LinkedIn
- Manage social media across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube
- Have experience marketing a service-based business, tech, or e-commerce brand on social media
- Carry out performance tracking and analytics using Google Analytics and platform tools
- Have email marketing experience and a strong grasp of lead nurturing
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, and working closely with the Brand Marketing Manager, you’ll be expected to bring a strategic, data-driven approach while aligning digital efforts with the company’s broader marketing objectives.

Responsibilities
Content Creation & Management
- Develop and execute engaging digital content for social media, digital campaigns and other online platforms.
- Create and edit multimedia content, including graphics, videos, and animations using tools like Adobe Suite and Canva.
- Ensure brand consistency across all digital channels.
Social Media Management
- Manage and grow social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok).
- Develop content calendars and schedule posts using social media management tools (Meta Business Manager, Hootsuite).
- Plan and execute social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and engagement.
- Engage with industry professionals, partners, and customers, responding to comments and messages.
- Monitor trends and leverage them for content strategy.
Paid Advertising & SEO
- Plan, execute and optimise paid digital campaigns on platforms such as LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads to increase brand visibility and generate qualified leads.
- Track and analyse ad performance, making data-driven decisions for improvement.
- Optimise ad performance using A/B testing, audience segmentation, and continuous refinement.
- Implement SEO best practices and keyword strategies to drive organic traffic to digital channels.
Email Marketing & Lead Nurturing
- Create and manage B2B email marketing campaigns (Rocketmailer, Mailchimp).
- Develop targeted email sequences to nurture leads and drive conversions.
- Analyse email performance and optimise campaigns for higher engagement.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Track campaign performance and provide insights through detailed reports on key metrics (e.g., MQLs, CTR, CPC, ROI).
- Use data-driven insights to optimise and improve future digital campaigns and strategies.
- Stay updated with digital marketing trends, tools and best practices.
- Analyse website traffic using Google Analytics and provide actionable insights.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- A Diploma/Degree in Digital Marketing or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Digital Media Specialist, Social Media Manager, or similar role.
- 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing LinkedIn marketing campaigns for B2B lead generation.
- Strong understanding of SEO, PPC, and digital advertising tailored to B2B audiences.
- Experience with content creation tools (Adobe Photoshop, Canva) – advantageous.
- Passion for content creation, storytelling, and digital engagement.
- Proficiency in Google Analytics, LinkedIn Ads, Facebook Business Manager, and other digital marketing tools.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, creativity, visual storytelling skills and the ability to think “outside the box”.
- Strong writing skills, weighted towards B2B content (e.g., LinkedIn posts, case studies), but also capable of crafting engaging B2C content (e.g., product promotions, social media posts).
- Strong analytical skills and an analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team (assist with and/or run with projects and ensure implementation thereof).
- Driver’s license and/or reliable transport.
- Experience in e-commerce, SaaS, or agency environments – advantageous.
- Experience working with B2B brands in technology, retail, or e-commerce – advantageous.
- Working knowledge of MacOS and related applications – advantageous.
- Knowledge of AI-driven marketing tools and automation – advantageous.
- Google Ads, Meta (Facebook) or LinkedIn Ads Certification – advantageous.
- Passion for Apple products and technology – advantageous.
- NOTE: This is a full-time, in-office position. For the hybrid work model, the candidate must be available to be in-office and attend marketing events as required. You must be available and responsive via communication channels during working hours. Additionally, a suitable, reliable internet connection as well as the ability to work during loadshedding is a must.
