A fresh, award-winning boutique PR & Marketing agency in Cape Town is on the lookout for a Mid-weight PR Account Manager to work on-site on a fab portfolio of consumer and business accounts.
As PR Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic PR plans, maintaining media and influencer relations, and ensuring happy clients. You will manage accounts and meet with clients once a week, while overseeing status reports and campaign reports etc.
The successful candidate will form part of a team and work closely with the agency’s AD and AE, Head of Content, and the Social Media Manager. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results and help clients achieve their objectives.

Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Diploma or degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
- 4-5 years agency experience as a Public Relations Account Manager or a similar role
- Previous PR agency experience: non-negotiable
- Strong understanding of PR calendar plans, tactics, and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain media & client relationships
- Account management abilities: timesheets, status reports
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in PR software and tools
- Knowledge of the South African PR landscape
- Positive “yes we can” attitude
- Great media connections – is able to set-up coverage and interviews asap, and also has great Social Media Influencer relations
- Understanding and ability to successfully use social media for campaigns
- Able to do basic writing – proofreading, editing, media pitches, bios, briefing documents
- Own car and driver’s license – advantageous
- A good vibe: the agency culture is ego free.
