Responsibilities
 
Deliver Performance Targets Across All Beverage Brands
 
    • Develop and deliver insightful presentations and strategies to the Executives and the Group Head of Marketing
    • Direct ongoing market and industry analysis
    • Drive ongoing competitor intelligence within the team
    • Ongoing review of portfolio activity effectiveness and adapt or change plans where necessary
    • Along with the Marketing Executive for Snacks, participate and contribute to monthly marketing, sales and NPD meetings
    • Ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting for all beverages activities and plans.
 
Deliver Local Portfolio & Brand Strategy
 
    • Provide and report insights from existing research and analyses of the market and competitors
    • Develop a 3-year beverages portfolio strategy
    • Manage the brand plan process to deliver effective and innovative brand plans for beverage focus brands.
 
Deliver Consumer Communication Strategy
 
    • Present and implement brand portfolio investment
    • Drive media strategy process, agreement and delivery of plans
    • Develop and maintain strong agency relationships
    • Ensure management of budget and closely monitor communication and promotional spend.
 
People Leadership
 
    • Manage active growth and development of team members
    • Drive effective performance management conversations
    • Along with Marketing Executive for the Snacks division, ensure ongoing interface with Sales, Operations, Commercial, Research, Executive Team and Group Head of Marketing.
 
 
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
 
    • A relevant tertiary Degree in marketing or commerce is required
    • A post graduate qualification would be advantageous
    • A minimum of 15 years marketing experience, of which at least 5 years should be in a senior or executive function within an FMCG company
    • Exposure in dealing with different markets and categories would be advantageous
    • Marketing within the South African environment to the South African consumer
    • In depth understanding of lower LSM and the middle-class consumer
    • Ability to analyse, interpret and leverage data and information
    • Strong commercial and business acumen
    • Ability to think both strategically and operationally
    • A deep understanding of how to innovate and create strong equity for the beverages business
    • Ability to interact and influence cross functionally in a matrix environment
    • Ability to influence upwards and across functions
    • Ability to operate in a complex environment
    • Ability to identify and keep abreast of trends and apply these within the business, specifically the Beverages portfolio
    • Empower and grow teams
    • Strong team player with strong functional skills
    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of strategy formulation
    • Pragmatic with a hands-on approach.
