We have a sought-after on-site opportunity for a strategically minded Senior Storytelling & Reputation Manager to join the passionate team at an exceptional, luxury travel, ecotourism and conservation brand headquartered in Cape Town.
This senior, strategically focused yet hands-on role sits at the heart of the brand’s global narrative, stewarding how its story is shared across international media, creative collaborations, and cultural partnerships. You’ll lead the company’s global PR and communications ecosystem, guiding reputation management while working closely with international agency partners and media networks to ensure every story told reflects the brand’s purpose, experience, and conservation ethos with integrity.
While overseeing communications partners across multiple global markets, you’ll take direct responsibility for the South African market, building strong relationships with journalists, storytellers, and collaborators who align with the brand’s values. The role operates at the intersection of storytelling, reputation management, and cultural influence, shaping how the brand shows up across traditional media, digital platforms, and meaningful partnerships around the world.

Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of Global PR & Media Strategy, translating strategic pillars into action.
- Identify, brief, and collaborate with global journalists, storytellers, and thought leaders who align with the brand’s ethos.
- Manage and inspire the brand’s PR partners, ensuring alignment with brand tone, purpose, and storytelling standards.
- Lead the Reputation & Risk Framework, embedding values-led communication principles across the organisation.
- Serve as a key advisor during sensitive situations, ensuring consultation, alignment, and the integrity of the brand voice.
- Stay attuned to global media trends, AI discovery shifts, and the evolving cultural landscape.
- Advise on new storytelling opportunities and narrative innovations that strengthen the business’s position as a thought leader in regenerative luxury and conservation.
- Oversee all global media-related operations, including annual PR budgets, contract negotiations, and trade or partnership agreements.
- Manage press trip facilitation and quality assure all journalist travel – from itinerary design to on-the-ground coordination – ensuring seamless, high-standard hosted experiences across regions.
- Ensure content accuracy and alignment for all press releases, briefing documents, and media assets are produced, reviewed, and shared with absolute accuracy, consistency, and alignment to the brand voice, purpose, and editorial standards.
- Identify and build relationships with strategic partners and collaborators.
- Manage and amplify partner activations and events.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following (or related fields): Communications / Public Relations / Journalism / Media Studies / Marketing / Brand Strategy
- A globally minded communications leader with 10+ years’ experience in international PR, brand storytelling, or cultural strategy – across travel, design, or purpose-led luxury.
- Exceptional narrative instinct – able to translate the brand’s philosophy into language and partnerships that resonate across cultures.
- Proven experience managing global agencies and high-level media relationships, with sensitivity to tone, timing, and nuance.
- Strong understanding of reputation management, crisis communication, and values-based leadership.
- Emotionally intelligent, collaborative, calm under pressure – with an ability to balance brand guardianship and creative exploration.
- Deep affinity for Africa, its people, landscapes, and creative energy.
- Someone who embodies grace and authority – a listener, connector, and custodian of truth.
- Able to confidently find ways to amplify good news.
