We have a terrific, hybrid opportunity for an experienced UX Lead/ Senior UX Designer at a leading travel software solutions company, based in Cape Town. While this role can be hybrid with the opportunity to be remote, candidates will need to be based in Cape Town.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated UX Design Lead to take the lead in creating and providing software solutions that assist the travel industry in collaborating and serving their customers efficiently.

Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the UX/UI team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
- Define and drive the UX vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
- Conduct user research and gather insights to inform design decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create wireframes, prototypes and user flows to effectively communicate design ideas and concepts.
- Collaborate with product managers, tech leads, engineers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into user-centred design solutions.
- Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to iterate and refine designs.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in UX design, and where appropriate integrate them into our processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations such as GDPR and POPIA for all design initiatives.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Industry relevant tertiary qualifications.
- 4 – 6 years of experience in a user experience design role (UX designer, UX researcher, product designer).
- Experience mentoring and guiding a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your design process and deliverables.
- Proficiency in design tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD etc.
- Proven track record of multiple ideas pitching them, absorbing feedback, and then seeing them through production.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, practiced in articulating and validating design decisions to key partners.
- Successfully validated ideas via navigation concepts, page layouts, interactions, mock-ups, wireframes, flow diagrams, sketches, and other UX collateral.
- A solid understanding of user-centred design principles, UI design, usability testing, UX standards and terminology.
- Proficiency using Jira, Confluence to communicate annotated wireframes.
- A passion for the user experience and take pride in your work.
- Able to design better solutions through great teamwork.
- Client-focussed and can empathise with the end-user.
- Enjoyment working on a wide range of platforms including web and mobile.
- A pro at evaluating user research, gathering requirements, innovating solutions, and creating usable design concepts.
- Practiced at delivering solutions through in-team and across-team collaboration.
- Equally comfortable defining and building from the smallest touch points to emerging experiences.
- Able to quickly create and confidently present UX concept prototypes.
- Self-motivated, work independently and get the job done.
- Appreciate giving and receiving constructive feedback to enhance the products.
